"Throwback Thursday: Lent Edition"

After many years of thinking "Maybe I should blog?," I finally jumped in to give it a try for a while. With some encouragement from one of my small group girls from church, I am now here sitting here typing. What should I write about? What's my expertise? I can't really pinpoint it down...but I feel like this stepped into my life and I am going to give it a whirl. I may post about music....or maybe photography....or maybe being a mom....or maybe about some amazing organization system I found...or maybe just talking about life.
Blog Day 1: "Throwback Thursday: Lent Edition"
I am heading out on a journey tomorrow with 14 other girls & ladies from our church to hang out for the weekend at a girls conference in Nashville. While there, I hope to meet up with an old college friend of mine. I haven't her since I was pregnant with my daughter almost 5 years ago. I ran across this photos of us below while looking for that awesome throwback thursday photo to post:
My friend, Whitney is on the left. I am in the middle and my friend, Elissa, is on the right. This photos is so goofy but has so much meaning now because of being so far away from my friend Whitney. I also am praying daily from my friend, Elissa, who recently found out she has a brain tumor. Life can change so quickly and I want to cherish even the goofiest of times.

"So what are you giving up for Lent?" This questions always gets asked to me a million times this time of year from just about everyone I meet. It's a trendy thing I guess...
I am not giving UP anything this year (not that I ever did). I am focusing on how I can give BACK to others. I am focusing on making memories... goofy memories.
I forget sometimes to remember that the goofy times will be some of the greatest times I cherish in the future. I hope to take some silly photos this weekend with the girls just like the above on so that someday they may start a blog and remember that silly time in Nashville with their friends.
Cherish the goofy...that is what I will focus on this season of Lent:)
