Slacker, Avoider, or Unqualified?

12:30 PM

So I have to ask myself this question as I post for the first time in almost
8 MONTHS.....

Am I a/an?
Slacker?  Avoider? or Unqualified?

In the past 8 months, much has change in my life. We sold our house. We bought a new house. We moved into said house. We have gone on 5 trips across the country. I started school for my 10th year of teaching. I have tried to make our new house a home. We have tried to deal with where do we fit into this new community. Our family is trying to figure out how we live our lives in our new home.

Slacker? I would say no....things in life have changed DRASTICALLY.

Avoider? Possibly...avoiding the blog because I choose to do other things. Maybe. But I really find myself in the last category....

Unqualified? YES!! I think I quit or I stopped blogging due to the fact I feel unqualified to blog. But I don't feel God calls us to do anything because we are qualified, but because he will equip us with what we need at the exact time we need it.

"Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us[a] that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen" - Hebrews 13:20-21

Maybe, just maybe, we should focus on not if we are qualified, but what we are called to do. He will give us with everything we need if we are just willing to do what he calls us to .

My dear friend Caitlin started her own blog. (This is the point where you should click on a link to hers and check it out cause its amazing (http://www.caitlinkasberg.com/blog/) As I saw she stated a blog (which is way fancier than mine but I will get there someday), we had a short convo about how I use to blog. And now I sit here again blogging....

I guess you can say I am saying YES to the calling to blog. I am reading an amazing book (if you know me, I am NOT a reader). It is call "The Best Yes" by Lysa TerKeurst (http://lysaterkeurst.com/) This is helping me do what God is calling me to and do it well, instead of trying to do it all and not really doing anything except be really, really tired.  You should give is a read if you haven't!

Best quote from the book so far...

My best yes today......start blogging again. I feel this is not a disease to please but a command God is giving me.

What is your best yes today? What is God calling you to do that you feel unqualified to do? What do you need to say no to in order to say yes to what God is actually calling you to do?

He will equip us if we are only willing to follow His calling
